We stand behind the genetic soundness of the pigs we sell.

That promise is one of the ways BF Farm puts accountability behind the quality of our breeding program. When applicable, we also provide the registration, pedigree, health, and other records we have for the pig so you know what information comes with the animal.

What “genetically sound” means here

Our guarantee is focused on genetic soundness. It is not a promise that an animal can never become sick, injured, or affected by management, nutrition, housing, transport, or other conditions after leaving the farm. It means that if you have a legitimate concern that appears to involve the pig’s inherited genetic soundness, we want to hear about it and review it with you.

Low COI and genetic soundness are not the same claim. We use low-COI pairings to manage pedigree relatedness and protect genetic diversity. Our genetic-soundness guarantee is broader and addresses inherited concerns. Both are part of how we approach responsible breeding.

Tell us what you are seeingEmail BF Farm with the concern and include any veterinary, diagnostic, registration, pedigree, or other information you already have.
We review it with youWe will look at the information, the pig’s history and records, and the concern you are reporting rather than disappearing after the sale.
We talk through the next stepIf the concern falls within our genetic-soundness guarantee, we will discuss the appropriate next step with you directly.

Good care still matters

Owners remain responsible for proper shelter, fencing, companionship, feed, veterinary care, and transport. Our guarantee is about genetic soundness; it does not replace good husbandry or professional veterinary care.
